More Information

This is the second-oldest standing church in Winnipeg, built almost 40 years after the arrival of Presbyterian Selkirk settlers who arrived in the early 1800s. The structure, with its simple design, is an early example of Gothic Revival Style. Its design was based on small parish churches in Great Britain, which includes its gable roof and large pointed windows. It is solid limestone, and was covered in stucco in 1921. It is surrounded by a historically important cemetery containing the graves of some of the Selkirk settlers, Manitoba's earliest European farmers, and many of their descendents.

The site is designated as historically significant by the City of Winnipeg and the Province of Manitoba.
