The Tyndall Park Community School represents one of the most recent additions to the number of schools in the Winnipeg School Division. Originally intended to open in September 1977 but delayed by a construction site fire, it opened its classroom portion in February 1978. All facilities within the building and on the site were in full operation by the 1978 fall term. The school offers a wide range of facilities and programs for school age children. Integrated within the building design are sports and cultural facilities for children. Community sponsored programs for all seasonal team sports (hockey, soccer, baseball) are located in the community based portion of the building.
Design Characteristics
- The structure consists of a structural steel frame with precast concrete floor slabs and steel roof deck supported on a precast reinforced concrete pile foundation.
