More Information
Colony Square was a $22-million development by Lakeview Properties Ltd., constructed in between Portage and St Mary’s avenues and Balmoral and Good streets. The development consisted of two apartment towers, one 16 storeys and the other 17 storeys, with a total of 428 one and two bedroom units. The development also included a seven storey, 70,000 square foot office building, retail space, and a two-level car garage.
The apartment towers, one on Balmoral and the other on Good, were of concrete construction, faced in terra cotta coloured masonry. The buildings were designed with a common glass-enclosed lobby with an entrance on St Mary’s avenue. The office building, constructed of brick and glass, fronts Portage avenue.
The development was designed by Winnipeg-based architect Peter Wreglesworth in association with the architectural firm Smith Carter Partners.
