More Information
One time home to the United States consulate, this two storey, modernist building was designed by Winnipeg architecture firm Smith Carter Searle. Its construction costs were approximately $160,000. Faced in brick and extensive glazing, the structure’s design is reserved, sparing and clean-lined: a suitably formal appearance for an office building of special significance. The glasswork of the original entryway was assembled by Consolidated Plate Glass (Western) Limited.
