The Chalet Motel is located just off the Trans-Canada highway in Brandon. Motels grew in popularity during the 1950s as people were more commonly travelling by car and needed a place to rest that was along side the road.

The Chalet Motel follows this design, with a collection of small identical buildings providing a modest, temporary living space. There are 26 identical suites which are designed with a steep arched roofline. The small units each have a porch at the front entrance of the buildings, as well as ample parking space to accommodate customers.
