École St. Germain opened in 1987 for Kindergarten to Grade 5 students enrolled in French immersion. The school gets its name from the honourable Simon dit Brisard Germain, founder of the St. Germain school district in 1886, which taught only in French until 1917.

The school's facade is of textured brown brick and stucco, with an addition clad in brown siding to complement.
