Join Trees Winnipeg and the Winnipeg Architecture Foundation for this free hour-long tree-themed visit to Jacob Penner Park!
Hear about the history of what was once called Notre Dame Park and how it became the home base for tens of thousands of elm trees planted throughout Winnipeg in the early 1900s. Find out why trees are so important to our urban landscape and what you can do to help rebuild our city’s urban forest.
A guided walk of the park will point out some of the tree species that are growing there and provide practical tree care tips to keep your own trees healthy and happy for generations to come.
Be sure to pick up your free Winnipeg Architecture Foundation children’s walking tour map of the park!
