More Information
The Saint Boniface Surge Tank is a conspicuous structure that dates back to the modernisation of Winnipeg’s fresh water system. Despite the industrial purpose of the tower, it incorporates ornamentation based on classical architecture. The elaborate brickwork features arches and diamond shapes that are topped with a concrete cornice. In 1951, local firm Green Blankstein and Russell designed a modest one-storey Booster Pumping Station for the site.
