Skywalk tour of downtown Winnipeg

This three-hour indoor guided tour, by Christian Cassidy, takes you through Winnipeg's downtown Skywalk system from the Convention Centre to the Richardson Building. Along the way, find out how the downtown south of Portage Avenue transformed from a leafy residential neighbourhood into the city's Central Business District in less than a century. We will talk about the history of some of the buildings we pass through and see photographs of what they replaced.
For the past 15 years, Christian has written about the history of Winnipeg on his blogs, West End Dumplings, Winnipeg Downtown Places, and This Was Manitoba. He hosted a history-themed radio show from 2012 to 2016 on 101.5 UMFM and has been a regular columnist for the Winnipeg Free Press (2014 - 2018), Winnipeg Real Estate News, (2018 - 2020) and the Free Press Community Review, formerly Canstar Community News, (2021 – present).
