More Information
In 2010, the Upper Fort Garry site was designated a Provincial Heritage Park and redeveloped. To capture the rich history of the site, the park was designed to indicate the actual (or estimated) building locations of the former fort. Included is a dramatic 400 foot long Corten steel wall, known as the Upper Fort Garry Heritage Wall. It is the same height, length, depth, and location of the original west wall that was demolished in the 1880s. At times, a multi-media show is projected on the west wall.
