In the heart of the Randstad lies a unique part of the Netherlands: Máximapark. Just 25 years ago, this area was home to greenhouse growers; today it is a vibrant green icon of contemporary landscape architecture and community spirit.
From its roots in greenhouse horticulture and the remarkable archaeological discoveries dating back to Roman times, to the carefully designed landscape where rare flora and fauna have found their place, the park is a living mosaic of nature, history and culture.
Volunteers from diverse backgrounds work side by side to maintain and nurture this young yet meaningful place. Visitors to the park find tranquillity, inspiration and opportunities for movement and recreation.
Máximapark is an ode to the power of collaboration, the importance of heritage, and the beauty of a landscape in which people and nature reinforce one another.
