Place of Pride (Rainbow Resource Centre)

Wilson House, one of a handful of intact side-turret Queen Anne Revival homes in Winnipeg, is a fine representative of a middle-class dwelling from the early 20th century. Its striking asymmetry, steep roofs, bold tower and large porch are typical of the style. Located in what at the time was a moderately exclusive residential district, the house was built for R.R. Wilson of Campbell Brothers and Wilson Co., a leading wholesale grocery enterprise in Western Canada. The Wilson house has been rehabilitated by Number Ten Architectural Group. The adjacent housing unit has been designed by ARCADD Architecture. 

Place of Pride (Rainbow Resource Centre) is the first 2SLGBTQ+ campus in Canada – a comprehensive hub where people of all ages and stages of life can access programmes and resources, build a supportive community, gather for special occasions, and find affordable housing when they get older. The project includes seniors housing, community and counselling space.
