Abandoned Manitoba-Gordon Goldsborough

Join us for a presentation by Dr. Gordon Goldsborough, author of the recently published “Abandoned Manitoba”. This presentation will describe an ongoing project of the Manitoba Historical Society to map and present noteworthy historic sites around the province. Buildings, cemeteries, monuments, and other sites are visited, a precise location is measured using GPS, and photographs are taken, including aerial views by drone.

Copies of the new book will be available for sale and signing.

A native Manitoban, Gordon Goldsborough is an active member of the Manitoba Historical Society, being a Past-President, Webmaster, and an Editor of Manitoba History magazine. Co-author of the recent book “Delta: A Prairie Marsh and Its People” and author of the newly published “Abandoned Manitoba” (Great Plains Publications), his
interests are diverse, including the history of local government, river dredging, early automobiling, landscape and environmental change. He has been mapping historic sites for the past six years.
