Megastructures and Centennial Hall

101-177 Lombard Avenue

This event has passed.

Details

Join architect James Ashby (Ottawa) and Dr. Serena Keshavjee (University of Winnipeg) for a free presentation on their research about Megastructures and specifically Centennial Hall at the University of Winnipeg. The radical design of University of Winnipeg’s Centennial Hall was part of a larger global story of experimentation in architecture and urbanism. This talk examines the megastructures of the 1960s and 1970s, the so-called “dinosaurs of the modern movement”.
The venue is fully accessible.
