Design Characteristics
| Neighbourhood: | Rossmere-A |
|---|
- This is school design for which the plans were altered significantly from the architects’ concept to the ‘as built’, to the detriment of the concept
- It is a large school built on a raised site to accomplish some varying rooflines and grade levels
- A series of volumes, it is constructed with precast panels reaching down to grey foundation concrete, with angled entryways breaking up otherwise stark elevations
- Portable classrooms at the rear speak more to an expanding curriculum rather than a growing school-age population
