More Information
The boundless prairie horizon is central to the terminal’s design – a long and low form with a silvery roof which appears to float. Beneath the floating roof is an undulating Maple ceiling that replicates the feeling of rolling clouds overhead. The building’s transparency allows travelers to enjoy expansive views of, and form immediate connection to, the surrounding landscape. The building replaces the now-demolished 1964 terminal, designed by Green Blankstein Russell Associates, considered to be one of Canada’s most important modernist buildings.
