More Information
The building was designed to encourage connectivity, inclusion, and collaboration. The 100,000 sq ft structure incorporates the historic Scott Fruit Building with a state-of-the-art four-storey addition and an overhead walk-way to RRC’s Roblin Centre. Photovoltaic glass, integrated into the south wall’s cladding, generates energy while changing colour with the weather and the angle from which it is viewed. Inside are flexible, high-tech, interactive spaces with natural light throughout. The exterior and interior feature works by Anishinaabe artist Jackie Traverse and Cree-British artist KC Adams. The building’s name translates from the Anishinaabemowin to “where the Creator sits/brings light.”
