Musée St. Boniface is housed in one of the largest known oak log structures in North America and one of Winnipeg’s oldest buildings. Built as a convent for the Grey Nuns, the building dates back to the Red River Settlement and Roman Catholic mission in Saint Boniface. It is a rare example of the Red River frame construction method and was designed in the Georgian architectural style, with modifications that reflect French-Canadian influences. In 1958, the building was designated a National Historic Site of Canada.
