More Information

The Ralph Connor House was built in 1914 for the Reverend Charles Godron. He was a Presbyterian clergyman, an activist in social labour causes, and influential in the formation of the United Church of Canada. He was also a best-selling author writing as Ralph Connor.

With its picturesque shape, steep roof, elaborate chimneys and bay windows with stone mullions, the house is an exceptional example of the Jacobean Revival style, an architectural style derived from grand 17th century British manor houses. The University Women’s Club of Winnipeg has occupied the house since 1945.
