More Information
The historic Taché Residence is the largest of all the original buildings on campus, although its design is consistent with the others. Taking aspects from the Georgian style, the building uses many details of traditional architectural language including its symmetrical twin block towers flanking the entrance, extreme corners given sweeping curves, and entries treated with Tuscan columns. The building also features the red Spanish-tile roof common among the original buildings on campus. In 2015, the conversion to the Taché Arts Complex was completed. The salmon-red brick, limestone detailing, cornices, and columns were all restored, along with the central entrance and its twin block towers. The original terrazzo flooring in the corridors has been restored, as well as the original embossed wall paneling and crown moulding for the glass-enclosed music library and listening room.
