The architect of this home, Jack Donner, sought a distinctly modern form: a one-storey house, surmounted by a low-pitched gable roof, featuring no basement, and with a largely open interior plan. The structure’s original design made extensive use of built-in storage and cabinetry. Donner admired the work of such architects as Frank Lloyd Wright, Richard Neutra and Charles Eames.
