More Information
When the education centre opened in 1961, it served as the base for the Seven Oaks School Division, as well as space for a health unit. The resource building was later renamed in honour of Ben Zaidman, a contributor to many community activities including the Seven Oaks school board. The centre provides teachers with professional learning materials, curriculum support and a variety of resources to enhance learning and teaching.
A small-scale example of the “International Style”, the building is brick but with a fully glazed front facade punctuated by painted wooden panels. The flat roof has a generous overhang to shade the windows and create sharp shadows on the building’s front walls.
